Founded in 1995 under the vision of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and named in honour of her father Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, SZABIST carries the motto 'Discover Yourself'. The university is ranked among Pakistan's top-ten institutions by the Higher Education Commission and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (UK) and AACSB International. Its programmes span Computer Science (BS CS, BS SE, MS CS, PhD), Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics & Artificial Intelligence, Management Sciences, Media Sciences, Biosciences, and more. SZABIST recently won the UNESCO 2024 Future Designer Innovation Awards (Silver Category) — the only Pakistani university selected among 2,000+ global submissions. The ACM chapter at SZABIST is highly active, running tech talks, hackathons, and case competitions. Their partnership with Jinnah League '24 brought participants from one of the country's most internationally recognised universities.
