Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) is a distinguished public engineering university in Karachi with a founding history stretching back to 1962, when its cornerstone was laid by President Field Marshal Mohammad Ayub Khan. Founded by Seth Ahmed Dawood under the Dawood Foundation, DUET is widely regarded as a pioneer in engineering disciplines including electronics, chemical, petroleum, metallurgical, and industrial engineering. In 2013, the Government of Sindh elevated it from Dawood College of Engineering and Technology to full university status. DUET's current programmes span BE in Computer System Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Chemical, Industrial, Petroleum, and Metallurgy Engineering, as well as BS Computer Science, BS Artificial Intelligence, BS Cyber Security, and Architecture. The university carries the motto 'University of Relevance' and is accredited by the Higher Education Commission and the Pakistan Engineering Council.
